Christmas Eve day at home
I had never heard this before until it was read in BSF yesterday. I love it. I think this is the first time I’ve fully celebrated Thanksgiving in my heart. Because obviously I’ve celebrated it fully with family and food. We have SO much to be thankful for this year! Mikes health and job, me being home, our little Ella, a healthy, smart boy… Praise God!
Whereas it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, (more…)
Last night (around 1am) the pond by our apartment had risen and covered the road. The big ditch next to our parking lot was almost full. This morning it had gone down and looked almost normal again (with the pond just being a little high).
Today we drove over to the Hilton parking lot to check out some flooding. I wanted to get some pictures of this crazy, soon to be historic moment for Ki-Ki.
Today I was chatting with one of our new neighbors and learned that she, her 2 brothers, and their parents have been sleeping in sleeping bags on the floor. They’ve lived here for at least a month…sleeping on the floor! This breaks my heart. They moved down here for a job (El Azteca, YUM!) so fast, I guess they only brought what they could fit in their van. Soooo, if you have, or know of someone who does, any mattresses or bed frames you’re not using, let me know! They’re in need of something for the mom/dad, as well as a 13-y-o girl and 5 and 7-y-o boys. (All the kids share a room…so if you happen to have a bunk bed frame just lying around…that’d rock. (They’ve looked at Goodwill, but they don’t currently have any mattresses.)
